● Sustainability Governance

In 2021, Itochu Enex established the Sustainability Committee to deliberate and monitor sustainability issues across the group from a long-term perspective. During the current fiscal year, the committee focused its discussions primarily on climate change-related topics, meeting three times in FY 2024. The committee is chaired by an Executive Officer, who ensures that key issues are primarily discussed at the Management Meeting and reported to the Board of Directors as needed. When necessary, these issues are approved by the Board of Directors. The committee chair attends both the Board of Directors and the Risk Management Committee, thus integrating sustainability perspectives into business strategies and company-wide risk management. Department heads are appointed as committee members, and general managers of each sales division participate as necessary, fostering a structure where sustainability initiatives can be promptly implemented by each organization.
